I asked my followers on Instagram to share their skincare must-haves for dry skin in the winter weather and here’s what their responses were...

Clinique Moisture Surge: $28

“It’s exactly what it says it is. And my hair and face are grateful for it. I love to massage this on my face before bed. It makes me glow. I also pause blow drying my hair to warm a drop or two in my hands for when my hair that is about 75% dry. Gently rub it in and continue blow drying. The softest most manageable yet lofty long hair results.”

Lush Celestial Cream: $26.95

“So hydrating, natural, and doesn’t clog pores!”

- Katie Shapcott

Jergens Body Lotion Original: $12

"Since I got this Jergens lotion I haven’t stopped singing it’s praises. Both my daughter and I suffer from really dry skin, daughter had eczema, within the first few uses we could feel and see the difference. Our skin is soft to the touch and no longer dry and itchy. There is a nice aroma from the lotion not at all over powering."

-Walmart Review (Walmart.ca)

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Cream: $28

"About my skin: I am from mixed matte skin and and normally of regular skin. However the winter dried out my skin very quickly...My skin was cracking everywhere, it was extremely painful. I healed the skin around my eyes with some vaseline the first day and used this Neutrogena cream for the rest of the time and my skin healed VERY quickly. The cream gets in very fast and doesn't leave a feeling of oil on your skin. Now my skin feels very smooth (might be what people call oily but it is a very light effect) and i can go outside only fearing temperature and not the dry air. The skin is protected for the entire day. Would recommend to anyone."

- Amazon review (amazon.ca)

Mario Badescu Aloe, Cucumber and Green Tea Spray: $15.42

"I bought this spray because I was looking for something to refresh my skin and face throughout the day. I don't wear any makeup besides filling in my brows and the odd night out but just on a regular day I wear no makeup. I spray this on my face in the morning after i've cleansed, toner, serum, moisturizer, eye cream, filling in brows, etc. and it adds a nice refreshing finishing touch. I also use this sometimes after coming home from work. After a long day of work sometimes my face feels dirty or greasy and this is a really nice product to apply for a refresh before going to run errands or just to feel fresh again. Will definitley buy again"

- Amazon review (amazon.ca)

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid: $6.80

“Hyaluronic acid is known for its ability to replenish moisture and I love this serum because it does exactly that! My skin can get pretty dehydrated, especially during the winter, which can lead to more breakouts, but I find this product keeps breakouts at bay while hydrating my skin. This product is lightweight and leaves my skin feeling hydrated, soft, and never tight. Also, the price makes purchasing this a no brainer. Definitely would recommend giving this a try!”

- Alexia Cain

The Ordinary Argan Oil: $6.80

"It’s exactly what it says it is. And my hair and face are grateful for it. I love to massage this on my face before bed. It makes me glow. I also pause blow drying my hair to warm a drop or two in my hands for when my hair that is about 75% dry. Gently rub it in and continue blow drying. The softest most manageable yet lofty long hair results."

- Sephora Review (sephora.ca)

Lush Naked Amazon Primer: $12.95

"This product has been perfect for my face! I use hyaluronic acid each night and this every morning as a moisturizer and primer, and it keeps my makeup on and my skin feeling moisturized all day long. I love that it's packaging free so it's one less source of waste in my home!"

- Lush Review (lush.ca)

The Body Shop Vitamin E Cream: $33

"Since 16 years of age, I have been using both Vitamin E Moisturiser and Vitamin E Body Butter, can't live without these products. I take them on holiday and now my children are also using these products. I suffer with psoriasis and Eczema during the winter months, and these products help to greatly ease the conditions, very mild scented and easily absorbed without feeling oily. Gorgeous products!"

- The Body Shop Review (thebodyshop.com)

Lush Gorgeous Moisturizer: $87.95

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask: $63

“I can’t live with this mask anymore. I have super dry, sensitive skin and this has changed it SO much! I use it everyday as a moisturizer and I finally don’t have dry patches and my skin is so dewy/clear. Can’t say enough good things about it! I will keep buying over and over!”

- Sephora Review (sephora.com)

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask: $26

"I use this mask as my daily lip moisturizer. It keeps your lips soft all day long and can even double as a lipgloss. You can feel it deeply penetrate into the delicate skin on your lips and repair damage from the sun and the cold."

- Alysha Bauer

GlamGlow Thirstymud Hydrating Treatment Mask: $77

"This product is a lifesaver! It can be either used as a mask or as an overnight moisturizing treatment. Either way you use it, your skin will feel soft, plump, and super hydrated. It has a gel-like texture and never feels greasy. I have gone through three of these pots so far and just keep repurchasing."

- Alysha Bauer

Blistex Lip Conditioner: $3.79

"You can feel this working as soon as you apply. It has a cooling feeling, great for repairing damaged lips. Plus, I love that it has SPF included so I don't have to worry about protecting them from further damage while exposed to the sun"

-Alysha Bauer

Pond’s Dry Skin Moisturizer: $6.97

"I have extremely dry skin and I need to apply skin cream to my face every day otherwise I will be peeling out and having a face full of skin flakes within an hour after I shower. I apply this daily as part of my morning routine and can't recommend this enough... I don't need to reapply more throughout the day. This lasts me from when I wake up until I sleep"

- Amazon Review (amazon.com)

Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peel: $23.50 for 5 packets

"This is the BEST! I received a sample in my Boxy subscription and fell in love. I purchase the 30 treatments right away. Now I use them every day. My skin has never looked more balanced and perfect. I used to never leave the house without makeup - now, I feel like I look actually pretty without makeup on.. wow. What a difference this stuff makes. Worth every penny. I promise you that! You will LOVE your skin."

- Sephora Review (sephora.ca)

Origins Drink Up Intensive Overnight Hydrating Mask with Avocado and Glacier Water: $34

"I've loved this mask for YEARS. I got it when I moved to NYC in 2015 to help my skin during the harsh winters, and it's definitely one of my holy grail products. I've got pretty sensitive, acne-prone skin as well and it's never given me any issues. In fact, whenever I feel like my skin is dull or needs a boost, I always return to this mask. Now I live in a more mild climate, and still use this. I've recently been experiencing some clogged pores and tried so many other masks and peels to help. But I think my skin was just really dehydrated! I used this mask and OVERNIGHT my skin was smooth again and my skin was so happy. Can't say enough good things about this product. AND for the price?? It's definitely one of the best hydrating sleeping masks out there."

- Sephora Review (sephora.ca)

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream: $18

"This product is extremely hydrating without being greasy or oily. It’s “a cult-favorite-head-to-toe moisturizer” according to Sephora and I completely agree. It’s a more affordable option when you don’t want to break the bank and it’s marked as clean beauty at Sephora!”

- Marah Minor

Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray: $11

"This rose water spray is light yet hydrating and is a good extra step to give your skin a little boost. It gives a radiant, dewy glow to your skin and the smell is heavenly!”

- Alexia Cain

Ole Henriksen Truth Serum: Collagen boosted with True-C Complex: $64

"Seriously the best serum I've ever used. I've been using this for about a month now, and while my skin definitely went through a "purging" stage for about two weeks, the breakouts have mostly subsided and I am noticing my skin looking much brighter and healthier. Dark spots from acne scars have begun fading away, which was something I didn't think could actually happen. A little goes a long way with this stuff - I bought a travel size just to try and even after using every day for a month I still have about 1/3 remaining - and I find that it applies best immediately after washing the face. My skin absorbs it pretty quickly too, and it smells wonderful. I will definitely be purchasing a large bottle after this mini finally runs out."

- Sephora Review (sephora.ca)

Drunk Elephant Protein Polypeptide Moisturizer: $89

"It helps keep my skin so moisturized! I have combination skin that is sensitive and used to get painful hormonal acne. The only moisturizer that hasn’t made me break out and actually has helped make my old acne scars look less noticeable. It is a bit on the pricey side but the products last for months. I use this twice a day and only have to buy a new bottle about every 3-4 months. I wouldn’t expect results right away but the longer you use it the more results you see. Especially if you have a simple skincare routine is where this product truly shines!"

- Sephora Review (sephora.ca)

Lush Eau Roma Water Toner: $10.95

"I've used this toner for a few years now and I swear I will use it forever. I have dry skin, especially in the winter, and this helps so much! I use it all year round but works wonders in the colder months."

- Lush Review (lush.ca)

Sally Hansen Cuticle Oil: $8.18

"Simply put: this product has saved my nails, my skin, and my cuticles. I change my polish weekly which can be a little harsh on nails and all of the skin surrounding it. Mix that with the fact that it's now winter and boom - cracked skin city. But this has helped me so much! My only regret is not buying it sooner"

-Sally Hansen Review (sallyhansen.com)

Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment: $77

"This stuff is magic. I don't know how they do it, but whatever is in this works wonders. It can either be used as a spot treatment or all over the face, but you can literally see it extracting dirt from clogged pores. After I use it my skin feels and looks like glass. It makes bumpy areas completley smoothed out and a perfect canvas for makeup application."

-Alysha Bauer

Lastly, items that you can find in a variety of stores at various price points were: pure shea butter, hemp serum, rosehip serum, vaseline, coconut oil, grape seed oil, jojoba oil, and items with ingredients including seabuckthorn, honey, and colloidal oatmeal!
